The dermal (facial) fillers used in our clinic are gel-like substances made from hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance in the skin that helps the skin appear plump and hydrated. The dermal fillers are often mixed with lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during the injection. The reason I only use hyaluronic acid dermal fillers is because it can be dissolved if required which makes it a safer option.

Dermal fillers are injected into the face to add volume or enhance facial features. Some of the reasons why dermal fillers are injected include: to have higher cheek bones, get a more defined jawline, improve jowl lines, plump or restore loss volume in the lips and get a more defined chin.

Dermal fillers usually lasts 9 to 12 months for lips and 12 or more months for other areas. The brand and type of dermal filler used depends on the area injected and the look that we are trying to achieve.
